Getting Started

March 15th, 2007 by Rhoda

Today I am taking the last step I needed to for my crusade against CA MRSA, I’m buying a van this morning. I have been taking the city bus from Omaha to Council Bluffs to visit my daughter and her friends with CA MRSA which has greatly slowed my progress. I am disabled with Fibromyalgia and Interstitial Cystitis so it isn’t ever easy to get around.

My biggest concern right now is Earl, a man in the hospital who had a heart valve replaced for the second time this year because he had MRSA there. I’ve never met Earl but his wife has helped me with getting rides around the Bluffs since this began in August for us. He only had a 50% chance of surviving the surgery, and he did, so we hope he will pull through again. I was very concerned for my daughter with CA MRSA because she found out she was pregnant, but she had a miscarriage two days ago, and while we grieve our lost little one we have to wonder if God was saving her/him from this life with MRSA.
